HBF Emerging Researchers Workshop
Sept. 8, 2025 - 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. CET
Workshop Overview
Each year, the Hepatitis B Foundation hosts an Emerging Researchers Workshop. This is an opportunity for early and mid-career researchers (EMCRs) to network and learn about career opportunities in hepatitis B, hepatitis D and liver cancer. The workshop provides a platform for EMCRs to practice professional communications skills, discuss career pathway challenges and opportunities, and share ideas and resources for professional development. The workshop also provides an opportunity to meet with scientific leaders and discuss the latest key scientific issues in hepatitis B, hepatitis D and liver cancer research.
In 2025, we will host a half-day workshop (8 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. CET) on Sept. 8, 2025, immediately prior to the start of the 2025 International HBV Meeting. This year’s workshop will include an engaging keynote address on scientific communications and interactive small group presentations/discussions. Agenda highlights include:
- Keynote Presentation: Science Communication, Dr. Ulrike Brandt-Bohne, The National Institute for Science Communication (NaWik)
- Interactive roundtable discussions
- Discussions of key hepatitis B and D scientific research questions
- Opportunities to practice science communication skills
- Networking opportunities and free lunch
