About this historic venue

Sorakuen (相楽園, Sōrakuen) is a traditional Japanese landscape garden in the center of Kobe. Completed in the early 20th century, the garden used to be part of the residence of Kodera Kenkichi, a former mayor of Kobe, but was opened to the public in 1941. The garden displays elements of Japanese gardens alongside a few unique buildings that speak to Kobe's cosmopolitan history.

What's included

The evening will start with a welcome drink in the Garden, with plenty of time to explore the traditional Japanese landscapes, followed by the Gala dinner.

The recommended dress code is business casual (or Garden party attire).

Complimentary bus shuttles will be available, departing from the Portopia Hotel and returning to the hotel after dinner. The Garden is about 20 minutes by bus from the hotel.
